The Bangalore Supply Chain Meetup: First chapter in India
Nov 6, 2018

As a logistics professional and a keen learner, I often attend various supply chain conferences to acquire knowledge and discuss new ideas. However, more often than not, these conferences tend to be generic, monotonous events where the captive audience simply goes through the actual session in the hope of networking with fellow professionals afterwards.
I was in the U.S., attending one such conference when I met Brian. Brian introduced me to The Worldwide Supply Chain Federation (TWSCF). An international body with the mission to nurture and grow the world’s foremost open, global, and multidisciplinary community of people devoted to building the supply chain networks of the future. What interested me though, was the unique nature of the event, designed to generate ideas and share experiences on the supply chain. This was not just a one-to-many communication platform designed for pre-planned content distribution. This was a stage built around community building exercises of supply chain professionals, who discussed stories and voiced their personal opinions.
Intrigued, I delved deeper into the community and the subjects that it discussed, and after meeting few other community members, decided to bring TWSCF to India. The Bangalore Supply Chain Meet up (TBLRSCM) is the local chapter of TWSCF, in association with Locus. The meet up will include some of the top leaders and best minds from the supply chain field, formally discussing modern logistics issues and solutions from their respective sectors. The day will also feature an extravaganza of Greek food specially designed by a professional chef, accompanied by a session on capturing memories.
After many successful chapters in the U.S. (with The New York Supply Chain Meetup as its founding chapter), it is time for Bangalore, to host India’s first supply chain meetup. If you are a supply chain executive looking out for fresh ideas or have some novel proposition to share and stories to tell, this is where you should be heading for.
